Grease has trouble reaching these parts of the garage door. Silicone is best used in accompaniment to grease because it doesn't provide as much friction resistance, but can reach places that lithium grease can't. It also has a longer life and is resistant to temperature and moisture. Feb 18, 2022
To adjust spring tension, qualified personnel should loosen all of the set screws in the tensioner and axle support at both ends of the door. At the tensioner end, they'll place a pipe wrench around the end of the axle so that pulling down on the pipe wrench will rotate that axle to increase spring tension. Nov 16, 2020
